Chiang Mai, Thailand--2011      Touring though a forest on a rainy day in August. The group ahead of me were warned of a king cobra hiding in a wet haystack at the edge of the field. As I came to the clearing, they all gasped as marveled at the view. This rice field might have been the last thing I had ever before convulsing in violent venomous spasms.

Koh Payam, Thailand--2013  Not far from Burma is a lesser known Thai island. My friend from Bangkok ran a bungalow there. I spent a week on the island, never tiring of the sunsets.

Yichang, Hubei Province China--The riverside promenade was one of the few places in Yichang to wash away the stress of that grimy city. Mnt, Moji is a popular site that many people like to climb on the weekend. The top of the mountain has a stone pagoda littered with disgarded water bottles and food wrappers.

Spinning Wheels

Motorbikes make up more of the traffic in Vietnam. During my first weeks in Vietnam, They provide an opportunity for great photos, much more so than car and truck traffic. I was exposing for the purple sunset on the way back to Vung Tau from Ho Chi Minh City, when this motorbike entered my field of view.
